The Ministry of Health of Iran says that annually "one million foreign patients come to Iran for treatment."

ISNA news agency, citing Mohammad Hossein Niknam, the Director-General of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health, writes that around 7,000 foreign students are currently studying in Iran, and approximately one million foreign patients come to Iran for treatment each year.

He emphasizes the need to increase Iran's share of health tourism and states that a strategic council has been formed under the leadership of the Minister of Health for this purpose.

The Ministry of Health of Iran states that there are now over 247 medical centers in the country with IPD certification, providing necessary conditions for offering services to foreign patients.

According to reports, despite the unprecedented inflation and price hikes in recent years, low treatment costs and affordable and abundant medication in Iran have made it an unparalleled destination for treatment for many people from other countries
